In the Basket: Random Landmark Haul

So last Sunday I had the chance to go around Landmark Makati while I kill some hours waiting for Ed. I was trying so hard not to get so much but I still ended up around 3k poorer. Sigh. But my heart was happy, and I was happy, and everything is right in the world. Well, except for my wallet.

This is a super random weekend haul, really – from bath stuff to make up to stuff I bought for my baby sister.

Now here are they are:

Ticket for Two: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)

Ticket for Two is a segment in this blog where I will be  quickly “reviewing” movies with the biggest movie/tv series buff I know, Ed (not Sheeran, not Harris, not Burns; just Ed). 🙂 Don’t expect full blown reviews, though, because we will probably not deliver. Quick insights – likes and dislikes, and that’s it. It should still be fun, though 🙂

“Set to the backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ continues the team’s adventures as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s true parentage.”

Laneige BB Cushion: Not a Review!

I have always been your liquid foundation girl and I honestly have not tried any other kind of make up base. Lately, however, I have been so much into skin care that I thought of looking for a good BB Cream. To no avail, I have not found a good match. And here is where Laneige BB Cushion comes in.

At first I was hesitant trying this one out because, #1, it is frakking expensive! and #2, since it is from Korea, it might not suit my undertone. Cutting the long story short, I gave in.  Continue reading “Laneige BB Cushion: Not a Review!”

I Passed the Bar Exams!!!

It’s been six days since  the results of the Bar Exams came out and I still can’t believe I made it. I’m still in daze, like it hasn’t sunk in yet. I don’t know if it will ever sink in; it’s so surreal. So wait, is this real life? Am I really a lawyer now?

If you’re from the Philippines, you’d know how much pressure bar takers go through each year. Pegged as the “most difficult professional examination in the country” (even internationally, really!), the chances of passing the Philippine Bar Exams are very slim. The average number of Bar takers is usually at 6,000, and the passing rate would, on the average, only be less than 20% or at least 1,000. I know. What even, right? May 1, 2017: Marian Orchard +Paseo de Sta. Rosa in Laguna + Tagaytay Highlands

So it was a long long wekeend for the people of Manila because the government declared Friday, April 28th, and Monday, May 1st, holidays; hence giving us full four days to unwind and rest our arses off. It was honestly a break I badly needed, and I couldn’t imagine another way of spending it other than with my super kulit family. After the huge celebration of my lola’s 80th birthday, we all decided to take some rest and go a little farther from home – Paseo de Sta. Rosa, Nuvali and Tagaytay Highlands.

It was such a long day, the details will surely bore you. But may favorite part would definitely be our visit to the Marian Orchard in Balete, Batangas. If you are looking for some peace of mind and some place to pray and meditate, this is a good place to go to. They have a little chapel there and lots of religious stops and stations for prayer. It was such a beautiful, peaceful place. Continue reading “May 1, 2017: Marian Orchard +Paseo de Sta. Rosa in Laguna + Tagaytay Highlands”

First Quarter of 2017 Beauty Favorites!

I can’t believe April is ending in 5 days time which means that the first quarter of 2017 is about to end soon too! What even. Time is getting by so fast, it’s almost scary!

Anyway, I thought of making a list of the things I loved most during the first quarter of this year because I am planning to replenish/replace/ditch stuff in may “collection” (nah, there really isn’t a collection, just a handful of stuff) since it’s summer already. I felt like I’d be needing to replace a lot of the things I use in my face and in my body because of THIS. SCORCHING. HEAT. Ahhh, Manila.

I’m not much of a skin care person before but this year I am slowly turning into one. Slowly adulting, you see. 😉 Continue reading “First Quarter of 2017 Beauty Favorites!”

I got an Instax Share SP2!

Oh, what joy!

See I have long been wanting to own an Instax but I honestly don’t find it practical to bring it everywhere because of its size, which I think defeats its purpose of capturing random bits of life as they go popping up. So no matter how badly I wanted to get an Instax camera, I never did.

So imagine what joy I felt when I learned in 2015 that Fujifilm released Instax Share – a smart phone Instax printer! Never got to buy that year though as I was so much pre-occupied with law school.

Anyway, fast forward to today, I am so thrilled to finally have the latest Instax Share SP-2 model in my hands! The bonus? I got the gold one. My heart is dancing.  Continue reading “I got an Instax Share SP2!”
